Mould holding presses or commonly called “book”

polyurethane, a flexible but at the same time
compact and wear-resistant material, with a smooth or
embossed appearance depending on of the customer’s
request, which is used as a component for the automotive
sector, for furnishings, for sporting goods and in PXE

all those applications that require the combination of
softness and mechanical strength.
The same machines can also be used for the semi-rigid
polyurethane that is moulded with R.I.M. (Reaction Injection
Moulding) technology and being a semi-rigid material
with high mechanical resistance, it is ideal for the realization
of industrial components and bumpers, panels, body
parts for the automotive and transport sectors.
Since long time, Ormamacchine has decided to implement
and enrich its production of presses dedicated to
polyurethane, adding to the discontinuous plants for the
production of PUF panels, specific types of machines such
as the “MOULD HOLDING” series of presses like the “PXE
13/08”. The main features of this press are: lower movable
platen (upstroke design) (clearance between platens
800 mm), with the possibility of the upper platen “book”
opening with a maximum angle of 80 ° and the possibility
of an 45° intermediate opening. This solution is used
to facilitate operators in the upper semi-mould replacing
operations. The press is accessible from three sides.
The structure of the upper fixed platen and the lower
movable platen is in HEB beams welded and spaced to
allow the fixing of the moulds and the foaming process
both on the 3 free sides of the moulds, and from above.
Complete the versatility of the machine, the possibility of
inclination, both on the short side and on the long side to
facilitate the exhaust of the gases during the expansion
phase of the PU. The inclination adjustment is managed
by a manually adjustable limit switch
Finally, we want to point out that, in the “green” perspective
pursued by Ormamacchine in the recent years, the
current chemical and process compositions of polyurethane
products do not use aggressive solvents and do not
use CFC11 or HCFC, giving rise to an inert product. The
use of this material as thermal insulation contributes to
energy savings and therefore to a positive impact on the
environment.
